Stanislav Lolek
November 13th, 1873 - May 9th, 1936

Born on November 13th, 1873 in Palonín, Stanislav Lolek was an artist with an expressive, unique style. Originally, Lolek studied forestry before studying painting at the Academy of Fine Arts, Prague. True to his original field of study, Lolek specialized in landscapes and animals.

Lolek worked as a contemporary to his colleague, Joža Uprka. Rather than painting prolific Moravian characters and traditional culture and events, Lolek focused on the expressiveness of local animals and charming countryside scenes. He was also a member of the Association of Moravian Artists (SVUM).
