Moravian Madonna Mural in Cedar Rapids, IA Reveal (09/18/25)

September 18th, 2025 will be the official unveilment of our Moravian Madonna Mural in Cedar Rapids, IA in partnership with the National Museum of Czech and Slovak Museum and Library. The mural is the iconic painting by Joza Uprka, Untitled (The girl in a scarf from Vesili nad Moravou) (Moravian Madonna), 1925, Oil on canvas, 19 x 32″. This mural will be a reflection of Uprka’s talent and legacy in the Czech community.

Cedar Rapids is a city that is home to thousands of Bohemian, Moravian and Slovak immigrants and their descendants since the turn of the Century. Many more homesteaded and settled the farms and small towns surrounding Cedar Rapids.
