Max Švabinský
September 17th, 1873 - February 10th, 1962

During his lifetime, Max Švabinský was a prominent Czech painter and professor. He was a founding member of the Sdružení výtvarných umělců moravských (SVUM), or the Association of Moravian Artists. SVUM was established in 1907 to promote Moravian art and artists.

Key founding members alongside Švabinský included Joža Uprka. Švabinský served as a professor and rector at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (AVU) and was a recognized figure in the broader Central European art scene.
