Ludvik Ehrenhaft

July 9th, 1872 - March 6th, 1955
Ludvik Ehrenhaft was born in 1872 in Veselí nad Moravou. As a child, Ehrenhaft became completely deaf and began to devote himself fully to painting and drawing. First studying in Brno, he later studied at both the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna & Munich. Over the course of his studies, Ehrenhaft became well-acquainted with Joža Uprka and later exhibited with him in Hodonín.
Ehrenhaft focused on similar themes as Uprka such as captivating characters in folk costume. He worked across mediums and both photographed and painted the Moravian countryside.
