Lucie Klimova

January 5th, 1884 - October 6th, 1961
Lucie Klimova was born in 1884 in Prague. A multi-talented artist with a background in music, Klimova pursued her education at the Academy of Fine Arts, Prague. Klimova focused on landscape painting, as well as flower motifs. At one point in her career, she painted southern motifs with Josef Vacek in Yugoslavia.
Klimova’s adoration of Czech countryside is evident in her work. She always painted in nature and worked to be inspired by the colors and movement of the countryside. One of her inspirations was Vincent Van Gogh, whose unique, dynamic style, and love of nature, is evidently reflected in Klimova’s works.
