Born on December 30th, 1890, Myslivec’s life and work were intrinsically linked to his native Brno. Educated in Paris, Italy, and Yugoslavia, he was a frequent and prolific exhibitor in Brno. Many of his artworks were recognizable decorations in city offices and a large part of his collection still exists in the Brno City Museum. A significant part of his background was his teaching work at the School of Artistic Crafts in Brno (1937–1946). Myslivec works were largely influenced by Impressionism and his optimistic palette is similar to Joža Uprka.
